PFSE is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise providing services across northeast London. We provide a range of clinical services, via direct NHS contracts, to patients at sites based in local GP surgeries and health centres. This model means that our services are delivered by working closely with our GP colleagues to ensure you get the best possible care as quickly as possible close to home.
PFSE has been an active part of the local community for the last 15 years. Initially operating in Newham, our high quality service delivery has resulted in the growth of our service portfio, which now includes delivering high quality community-based care to the people of Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. We strongly believe in actively supporting our local GP's, hospitals and communities and have now become a leader of innovation within our locality.
We are a team of medical professionals who specialise in addressing the very real health care needs of people of East London, reducing secondary care spend and waiting times, and delivering efficient and safe medical care.

Social Objectives
Patient First is a not for profit organisation, operating as a social enterprise which means that we invest the money we earn into the serviced we deliver. As well as delivering high quality community care to the people of east London, Patient First is a leader of innovation within our locality. We strongly believe in supporting our local GP's and communities, and have sought to do this in a number of ways:
Investing in Local Primary Care
Investing in Local Primary Care Patient First has been instrumental in the development and realisation of an integrated IT infrastructure across GP surgeries in the borough. The enhanced use of Emis by GP's from Patient First has increased efficiency in all areas, whether it is the use of direct electronically delivered referrals, clinic outcome letter and test results. We have achieved this through investing heavily in both technical infrastructure staff training and working with GP partners to improve IT use. These improvements have served to greatly improve the patient experience.
Clinical Training
PFSE has provided direct post deploma clinical training for a number of newly quailified General Practitioners with an Extended Role (GPwER's) who wished to join our dermatology team. This career development widens clinical skill, allowing them to practice as GPwER's in our dermatology service. It also allows each doctor bring their expertise to the own GP Practices. We have also directly funded courses for clinicians in cardiology and MSK, both of whom have joinded our services.

Providing Oportunities
Patient First is actively involved in providing opportunities to young people through apprenticeships and work experience.
Working directly with the 15billionebp and Newham Education Business Partnership we provide high quality placements college students to gain invaluable work experience. Alongside this we have a longstanding relationship with Ixion - an apprentice scheme.
Another of our community partners is Ellingham Employment Service. This agency specialises in finding work for those with disabilities. In 2012 an Ellingham client joined us on a month long placement - he is now an important full-time member of our administration team.

Investing in local Services
Patient First has provided funding to support to a Newham based Biodensity service established by Bazil Hunte a Consultant Health Psychologist with over 40 years experience in the health and wellness industry.
Environment
PFSE has dramatically reduced its use of plastics, by providing thermal water bottles to staff.
We have sponsored a small garden at our head office site to provide habitats for wild life and quiet area for colleagues.
By hiring local people and holding clinics in the community, we are helping to reduce journey times for our staff and patients. We are also currently working on a cycle to work scheme for our staff.
