COVID-19 Response
 

The COVID-19 outbreak has been very challenging for healthcare providers across the country. Its impact has been felt by patients, clinicians and support staff alike.

At PatientFirst Social Enterprise (PFSE) we have taken swift and decisive action to protect our patients and staff. This means that there have been some changes to the way our services operate. Where it is safe to do so we have moved to virtual clinics, which use secure video links and/or telephone calls to allow consultations to take place. In some cases patients must be seen, in person, by a clinician.

We have implemented very rigorous safety measures to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our service users and staff so that now we can offer limited face-to face appointments for those patients that need them.

Working as a Social Enterprise

PFSE has been an active part of the local community for the last 10 years. As well as delivering high quality secondary care to the people of Newham, PFSE has developed into a leader of innovation within our locality. We strongly believe in actively supporting our local GP's and communities, and have sought to do this in a number of ways.
 

PFSE is a GP led organisation primarily based in the London Borough of Newham. We provide a range of clinical services to patients at sites based in local GP surgeries, which means our services are delivered by working closely with our GP colleagues to ensure you get the best possible care as quickly as possible. This also allows us to provide NHS care for patients closer to home.

 

The organisation has helped GP surgeries throughout the borough to develop and integrate their IT infrastructures. The enhanced use of EmisWeb by GP's from PFSE has increased efficiency in all areas, whether it is the use of direct electronically delivered referrals, clinic outcome letter and test results.
These improvements in the use of technology have served to greatly improve the patient experience.
